December 2013 awards ceremony & Christmas party

2013 is a very special year for the Seahorse Club as it celebrated its 50th Anniversary.  To mark the occasion a very special Christmas Party was held in London on Tuesday, 10th December which attracted many Seahorse supporters both old and new.

Once again Seahorse Club received a record number of entries (182 across the nine categories of award) from more than 72 journalists worldwide.  The awards recognize excellence in news and feature writing for journalists specialising in the maritime, freight transport and supply chain industries.

The awards were presented at the Seahorse Club’s annual Christmas Party, on December 11th 2012 in central London, held in association with Associated British Ports. Event sponsorship was also provided by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and International Transport Journal. Individual awards were sponsored by: DP World, Geodis Wilson, Maersk Line, Port of Singapore (PSA International), UK P&I Club and Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.

December 2011 awards ceremony & Christmas party

The Seahorse Club named freelance journalist Gavin van Marle as its 2011 Journalist of the Year. Runner-up for a second consecutive year was fellow freelancer, Alex Lennane, who also won the Supply Chain Journalist of the Year award. The awards were presented at the club’s annual Christmas party where a record number of journalists from specialist freight publications and national newspapers entered and attended, as well as a number of senior figures from the freight and logistics industry.
